Welcome to our page dedicated to a unique collection of "High Times" magazines , that belonged to pop art icon Andrew (aka Andy) Warhol. This remarkable collection, generously gifted by Andrew (aka Andy) Kowal, the publisher of the magazine, features handwritten notes that reflect the interaction of one of the most influential artists of the 20th century with the controversial topic of cannabis culture. The magazines, which cease in February 1987, have been further enriched by contributions from other enthusiasts, including Stuart Haber, Michael Aldrige, Timothy Leary and more, and found their home in the largest drug-related bookstore in the world, located in San Francisco. Dive into this fascinating cultural legacy where art, creativity, and counterculture converge to provide an unprecedented view of a vibrant era and community.

The first issue was released in June 1974 at the National Fashion and Boutique Show.
Tagline: The magazine was marketed as "The Magazine of High Society". Success: Its first run of 10,000 copies sold out rapidly, necessitating two reprints to meet demand. Original Intent: The first issue was intended to be a one-off "gag" but became a commercial success, leading to its continuation.
The High Times magazine "first reissue" refers to the reprint of High Times #1, which was first published in June 1974 and was an instant success, selling out its initial run of 10,000 copies and being reprinted twice shortly after its debut. It was created by Tom Forcade as a gag to lampoon Playboy but became a major success, leading to its continued publication as a monthly magazine focused on cannabis culture.
